Early Xmas in Covent Garden
As usual, I left my apartment with nothing but my wallet, phone and camera in bag, and picked a place to wonder off. I do this from time to time as a mental award to myself of semi-successfully finishing a few big tasks and projects.
Covent Garden, I know to most people, this probably doesn't ring a bell, it's not known like Mayfair, Soho or Notting Hill. But I can guarantee you, if you spend an afternoon here, you will understand its charm. Trust me, you can seriously get everything you need here, the best burger, restore your skincare products from Aēsop, a sip of the Monmouth coffee (if there isn't a crazy queue), and of course, get a peek what's holiday season like in London.
Best burger I've ever had? Shake Shack. I'm normally not a fan of American cuisines, but when it comes to this NYC chain store, count me in! I still remember the time I had Shake Shack with my sister, we just finished watching Mama Mia at Time Square New York, it was late and we shouldn't, but the burger is just too good to pass. Order the single cheese burger with a side of zig zag fries, and don't forget the custard ice cream of the week. Heaven.
My favourite Italian stationary shop, Il Papiro. Their note book are painted with delicate Tuscany patterns. In fact, get one of their diaries, what's better than starting the new year with some European vibe, right?
Before last week, I would never, I repeat-never, consider myself as a girl who wears layers of layers of clothes beneath your coat. It just didn't make sense to me at all. I'm usually the one who wears the least during winter among my friends. But man, I was so wrong. Last week is probably the coldest one in London so far. Its so different from the Taiwan and Australia. Very, very cold. It's like the winter days I use to have, walking out the door with just one thin top and jeans does not exist anymore.
And there you have it, my very first Christmas tree shoot in London. I mean, how big is that tree? Massive. I'm sure there is gonna be more holiday season photos coming soon, honestly, hunting down the best decorated tree, is kind of my thing. Ciao ciao!
Two months ago, I mentioned that something significant is about to happen here on the blog. And today, I'm happy to tell you that we're very very close to that! As some of you may not know, I started my blog in September 2014, at a Chinese blogging platform, Pixnet. That time, I created The Looking Glass as a place where I document my life in Australia. And see how crazy life can be, now that I'm in a totally different country, learning and doing something totally different. To be honest, I never thought photography would become such a big part of my life. It’s funny how a small decision can really snowball into a huge life change. Anyways, in no time, you will see a brand new TLG, I'm currently loving it already, and I hope you'll too. Stay tuned!
