3 Eateries to Vist in Tokyo

Is there a better time than the last few days of a year to introduce more distractions to abandon our heartless diets and eating guilts?  As you may already know from my snapchat (yang.tiffany), I eat a lot of Japanese food, so you can imagine how excited I was to actually get to taste the authentic dishes. Here are my three favourite eateries from Tokyo.

1. Botan

You guys have to come here for an authentic sukiyaki experience. One of my new discoveries in Tokyo, the restaurant is located in Awajicho, and the entire place has a very traditional and cultural ambiance. The menu is short and simple, but it's definitely enough to fill you up (I was so full that I can barely walk properly afterwards...). One of the coolest thing is that Botan has been around for more than a hundred years, and trust me, after one night, you can absolutely tell why!

2. Kani Douraku

I tend to avoid chain restaurants when I'm travelling, however, Douraku is one of those amazing ones that you just cannot resist. This is probably my most visited dining places in Tokyo (though the brand originated in Osaka). Known for its specialty with crab, with their set menus, you get to try different crabs in different ways. My personal favourite are the grilled crabs, its so fresh and juicy! Best place for all you seafood lovers out there!

3. Gonpachi 権八

Gonpachi to me, is more of a restaurant I go for the interior & atmosphere. The food here is modern Izakaya with a bit of western twist. I highly recommend the skewers, and don't miss out the soba noodles as this is also one of their strength. The food is good, though I have to admit, it is not as great as the others. I'd say Gonpachi is the perfect place to catch up with friends and celebrate something with your significant other. On a side note, if you're a movie fan, you might recognise this place as the setting of Kill Bill, which is kind of cool!
