TIPS TO A PRODUCTIVE NEW YEAR

[flo_one_half padding="20px 20px 20px 20px" class="" ]If you're anything like me, you probably love planning for a new year. Besides of the obvious new year's resolution, I love the idea of a clean state...to start fresh. One of my biggest goals this year is to focus on my portfolio and to reinvent. Not my entire life and personality, but just to discover what art means to me as a photographer. The path is most likely unknown, but I'm ready, more than ever. I'd like to think, 2017 is going to be a year of transitions. So, I've come up with a few tips to improve productivity that helped me as a freelancer, and I'm so happy that I get to share them with you!

[/flo_one_half]

[flo_one_half_last padding="20px 20px 20px 20px" class="" ]從小就特別愛計畫,一顆腦袋瓜為了未來的事情不停設想,總是覺得特別充實。 [/flo_one_half_last]

WRITE IT DOWN

[flo_one_half padding="20px 20px 20px 20px" class="" ]I like to have a breakdown of my week (sometimes even the day!), just so I can look over it on Monday mornings. Writing them down helps me mentally prepare for all of my shoots and to visualise the upcoming week. Plus, when things get busy, it is easy to forget the little appointments and errands you have, so a planner is always a good idea.[/flo_one_half]

[flo_one_half_last padding="20px 20px 20px 20px" class="" ]寫字是一直以來都有的習慣,從行事曆到學業與工作筆記等等。 [/flo_one_half_last]

ORGANISE YOUR DIGITAL LIFE

[flo_one_half padding="20px 20px 20px 20px" class="" ]Believe it or not...I use to never back up my work. Crazy, I know. A while back during my New York trip, I had damaged my memory stick with all the edited client shoots in it. I was so frustrated and probably about to lose my mind. At the end of the day, I had my friend send me all the original files through google drive and re-edit them all over again. It was a nightmare, traveling yet staying up late to edit until early morning. I learned it the hard way. Anyways, now I back everything up three times: on the laptop, online, and my an external hard drive. Trust me, you can never back up too much![/flo_one_half]

[flo_one_half_last padding="20px 20px 20px 20px" class="" ]攝影這份工作,除了相機,有大半時間都得面對電腦。 [/flo_one_half_last]

STOP AND READ

[flo_one_half padding="20px 20px 20px 20px" class="" ]Taking the time to do the things we love is so important. For me, it's reading. But I'm not going to lie; it's not every day I get to sit down for a good hour with a book in hand. However, I try my best to squeeze in even ten mins to just flip through anything that inspires me. At the moment, I'm reading Pheonix magazine's 20th anniversary London issue. I really recommend any of you grab a copy! First, the visuals are so powerful. And they have the best articles -- a nice balance between artistry, fashion, and politics, I reckon.[/flo_one_half]

[/flo_one_half_last]

LIGHT UP YOUR FAVOURITE SCENT

[flo_one_half padding="20px 20px 20px 20px" class="" ]The best thing I've learned from working at home so much is to designate a workspace. It's okay if you don't have a proper work office, a little part of your dining table will do. Other than the essential laptop, mood board, and notes, I always light up a candle when I know I'll be working home all day. These two from Neom Organic and Elemental herbology are two of my current favourites. I got both of them for Christmas last year, and they have been on my desk ever since. The Elemental Herbology Earth Candle comes with a nice oriental scent, it really lightens up my mood and spirit. And the one from Neom is super calming, just enough to ease the nerves and keep me focused, but not asleep, of course. Though the candles are Christmas limited editions, you can still find them via 10/10 hope, do check them out if you're in Taiwan. [/flo_one_half]

[flo_one_half_last padding="20px 20px 20px 20px" class="" ]在家寫稿、編輯照片的時候,除了音樂清單外,味道也是很重要的環節之一。 [/flo_one_half_last]
